Website Traffic API
Get organic and paid traffic estimates for any domain — by market, by page, month over month. All from one API call.

Ask Claude to size up a domain’s traffic
Connect SE Ranking data to Claude or another assistant via MCP and query the same traffic endpoints in plain language. Get organic and paid estimates, market breakdowns, and monthly history powered by the Domain Analysis API without you writing a request.
One MCP, same endpoints
Call the same endpoints as ready-made tools: traffic estimates, page-level breakdowns, and history back to 2020, on the exact data you’d query directly.
Agents answer in real time
Your assistant sizes up a whole list of domains mid-conversation, without you writing any request-handling code.
Faster than a raw integration
Point your agent at the MCP server and skip the auth, pagination, and response parsing a direct API build would need.
Traffic data you can pull, filter, and trace back to its source
Traffic data for any site on the web
You don’t need access to a site’s analytics to size it up. SE Ranking’s Website Traffic API estimates a domain's traffic from the keywords it ranks for, their positions, and search volumes. One call gives you:
Organic traffic estimates:
Estimated monthly visits from organic search, per domain and per region
Paid traffic estimates:
Visits from search ads, with a traffic cost estimate for what that visibility would cost in PPC
Traffic by market:
188 regional databases and a worldwide total, so you can see where a domain's audience actually sits
Page-level traffic:
The URLs that drive a domain's visits, ranked by estimated traffic
Traffic history:
Monthly snapshots back to February 2020, so growth stories and slow declines are visible at a glance
Built for whole lists of domains, not one lookup at a time
Bulk research has its own demands — volume, clean output, tight payloads. The API covers it all:
Bulk-ready retrieval:
Request up to 1,000 keywords per call with pagination, so a large domain stays one job, not many
Filter by traffic range:
Set traffic from/to bounds to keep responses focused on what moves the number
Integration-ready JSON:
Clean output built for ETL pipelines, BI dashboards, and internal tools
Return only what you need:
Sort by any metric and select only the columns you want, to trim payloads and save credits
See the keywords and pages behind the numbers
A traffic estimate you can't break down is a number you can't defend to a client. Every figure here traces back to its source:
The keywords behind the traffic:
Pull the ranking keywords driving a domain's visits, each with its position, volume, and traffic contribution
Position distribution:
See how traffic splits across positions 1–5, 6–10, 11–20 and beyond, to judge how stable it's likely to be
Leading indicators of change:
Track which keywords are new, lost, or moving. Treat this as the early signal of the next traffic shift
Regional or worldwide:
Trace the numbers in one market or across all of them in a single worldwide call.
Pull SE Ranking data into any AI assistant
Connect via MCP and get your traffic data, and everything else in your SEO and GEO stack, inside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any other AI tool. 1-minute setup, no exports, no code, without breaking stride.
Use cases for the Website Traffic API
Qualify prospects before the pitch
Run your prospect list through the API and open every sales conversation already knowing the account's traffic, top markets, and trend line. Proposals get sized against real numbers, and weak-fit leads drop off before anyone books a call.
Benchmark competitors across markets
Pull traffic for the same set of domains across the regions you operate in. Where a competitor grows, and you don't, becomes visible per market. Use this to make data-informed budget decisions.
Evaluate domains before you commit
Check link prospects, affiliate partners, or acquisition targets against traffic history back to 2020. A slow decline is invisible in a single snapshot, but obvious across six years of monthly traffic data.
Pipe traffic data into the tools you already use
Connect SE Ranking to the tools your team already works in, without custom development or rebuilding the pipelines you already run.

n8n
Open-source automation you assemble in a visual builder.
Plug SE Ranking into your stack so n8n can run a prospect or competitor list through the traffic endpoints on a schedule, sync the estimates, and flag shifts.

Data Studio
Live dashboards that blend SEO, GEO, GA4, and GSC.
Feed SEO, GEO, and traffic data into Data Studio for competitor and market dashboards that refresh between calls — no manual exports.

Make
No-code automation you wire up visually.
Use Make to route traffic, positions, mentions, and more into CRMs, project management tools, Slack, and more — connected without writing code.

How does the Website Traffic API estimate traffic?
Website Traffic API works from the keywords a domain ranks for. For each one, it takes the domain’s position, the keyword’s search volume, and the share of clicks a position at that rank usually earns, then adds them up into an estimated visit count. The numbers are estimates — but they’re consistent, they’re comparable across any site, and you can trace each one back to the keywords and pages behind it.
Can I check any website's traffic?
Yes. This is an API to get website traffic for any domain, subdomain, or single URL. No ownership or verification needed. Your own analytics already tells you about your site; this API tells you about everyone else’s.
Can I separate organic and paid traffic?
Yes. You get organic and paid estimates as separate figures, each with a traffic cost. That puts organic results and a PPC budget in the same units, which makes for an easier stakeholder conversation.
How far back does traffic history go?
To February 2020, with a snapshot for every month since, across all 188 regional databases. Six-plus years is enough to tell seasonality apart from a real trend, and to catch a domain in slow decline before you invest in it.
Is there a free website traffic API?
You can test the traffic endpoints on the free trial, which comes with 100K API credits. After that, you can access API on every SE Ranking plan or use pay-as-you-go that starts at $50 per 250K credits.
Which countries and regions are covered?
Website Traffic API covers 188 regional databases, each called with a standard Alpha-2 country code (us, de, uk…). A worldwide endpoint totals a domain’s traffic across every market. This means you can profile a domain country by country, or get the global figure in one call.
How is this different from Google Analytics?
Google Analytics measures the real visits to your own site. This Website Traffic API estimates search traffic for any site on the web, using the same model for all of them. Use GA4 for your ground truth, and the API for the competitor and market view GA4 can’t give you.
How does this relate to the Domain Analysis API?
The traffic endpoints are part of SE Ranking’s Domain Analysis API. Website Traffic API covers the traffic side of it. If you also need full keyword portfolios, competitor mapping, and ad intelligence, start from the Domain Analysis API instead.
What are the rate limits for the Website Traffic API?
Up to 10 requests per second per API key by default, with each request drawing from your credit quota. Checking a large list stays practical: one overview call per domain, and paginated keyword pulls only where you want the detail. Contact SE Ranking’s team if you need a higher ceiling.
