The full-scale invasion of Ukraine has forever changed our lives

The full-scale invasion of Ukraine has forever changed our lives

On February 24, 2022, russia launched a brutal full-scale war against Ukraine, targeting its core values of democracy, freedom, and human rights.

Because of russia, Ukrainian cities are being burned to the ground, and hundreds of thousands of civilians have either lost their lives, suffered injuries, or have been kidnapped. Tragically, tens of thousands of Ukrainian children have been abducted. Millions of Ukrainians have lost their homes, seeking refuge in countries all over the world.

The number of russian crimes is increasing

CMO at SE Ranking

The full-scale russian invasion disrupted the lives of dozens of members of the marketing team—myself included.

The first weeks of the war were devastating and chaotic. Many of us had even spent days on the road or in bomb shelters. But despite it all, we still managed to keep in touch, support each other, and make important decisions.

SE Ranking immediately left the russian market, even though it made up a large portion of our revenue and customer base. But make no mistake about it—this was an easy and non-negotiable decision. Not a single team member was dismissed. Instead, our joint efforts led us to discover new and better ways to market our product to diverse audiences. This sparked continuous growth. We also took proactive measures to protect our existing and new Ukrainian customers. This included discounting, maintaining legacy prices, and providing free subscriptions to non-profit organizations and businesses in need.

SE Ranking is proud of its Ukrainian team. We are determined to continue supporting them and the local SEO community as we double down on contributing financially to the future victory of Ukraine.

The comfort and wellbeing of our employees has always been one of SE Ranking’s top priorities.

Since day one of the full-scale war, we have been diligently developing programs and mechanisms to help our Ukrainian team members adapt to this dreadful new reality. This included informational, psychological, and financial support. We arranged transportation for evacuation, organized therapy sessions, and provided each Ukrainian employee with 2,000 USD to address their urgent needs during the initial months of the full-scale invasion. Our aim was to support the team in every possible way.

SE Ranking continues to adapt to the changing reality and remains committed to offering the necessary support depending on the circumstances. We opened a new office in Wrocław to create a space of mutual support for relocated team members. We offered compensation for portable power equipment during blackouts and set up a new office in Kyiv with uninterrupted power supply. Additionally, we organized a fundraising team event to boost team spirit and support the Ukrainian army.

We’ll continue responding to any crisis that the war reality brings, unwavering in our support for our team. Together, we stand strong—shaken but unbreakable.
