GetApp and Software Advice belong to the same Gartner network as Capterra and show the same 297 reviews, so we count them once in the total.
On G2, ease of use is the strength reviewers mention most (45 mentions), followed by the all-in-one feature set (33). The drawbacks G2 reviewers tag most often are gaps in specific features (15) and price (14).
Among the reviews we read, most come from agencies or in-house marketing teams. Agencies use SE Ranking to run client portfolios and white-label reporting, while in-house teams use it to track their own visibility. Founders and independent consultants appear too, tracking their own sites or a handful of clients.
Across these groups, the feedback settles into a few recurring themes. Before getting into them, here’s the short answer to the question most readers arrive with.
Is SE Ranking worth it?
For most reviewers, yes. The ones who get the most out of it use SE Ranking as their main platform, running keyword research, rank tracking, site audits and client reporting from one account.
Whether it’s worth it for you comes down to how you’ll use it. If you manage several sites or clients and want search data in one place, the reviews point to a good fit. If your work leans on one specialist capability, test that capability against the tool you use now before you switch.
The themes below show where reviewers see that value, in their own words.
One platform for the whole search workflow
The reviewers who rate SE Ranking highest tend to describe the same thing: work they used to spread across several tools now happens in one account.
The value they describe is practical. Teams spend less time moving between tools, and reporting gets simpler because the data already sits together. If you report to leadership or clients, that’s the part reviewers keep coming back to.
Luke T., Consultant, Marketing and Advertising
“Great all in one SEO tool, everything needed to review and optimize a site. Been a long time user and even when I’ve tried over tools I come back to it.”
Ian H., Chief Operating Officer, Whitehaven Coal
“What I like best about SE Ranking is that it gives us a straightforward way to understand how our digital visibility is performing across different markets without relying on several separate tools. We use it for keyword tracking, competitor monitoring, and technical audits, particularly around our corporate and sustainability-related content.”
Harshit V., Digital Marketing Executive, Information Technology and Services
“[SE Ranking] Helps me track keyword changes, compare competitors, and identify SEO issues without switching between multiple tools. Its integrations make reporting easier, while reliable performance and AI suggestions help me work faster.”
Ayushi K., LinkedIn Personal Branding Strategist, ThrdCup Media
“SE Ranking made our workflow more organized and smooth. It was scattered across different tools. Now it gave all tools related to SEO and technical things in one platform. It made keyword research, auditing, tracking easy.”
Flavio C., Senior Web Architect and Strategic Consultant
“SE Ranking helps me centralize all my SEO work in one place, which solves a huge operational headache. Instead of jumping between different tools for keyword tracking, audits, competitor research, and reporting, everything is integrated into a single workflow.”

Platform evolution and AI visibility tracking
Long-time reviewers describe a platform that changes often and responds to what customers ask for, by releasing new features quickly and keeping them up to date with SEO changes. Some customers have watched that change for a decade, for example Hardwarewartung 24 has used SE Ranking for 10 years.
Still, AI visibility is the clearest example of how far that change goes.
AI visibility tracking started inside SE Ranking and kept expanding as AI answers became part of how people search. It has since grown into a separate platform, SE Visible, built and developed by the SE Ranking team.
SE Visible tracks how your brand appears in AI engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews, and AI Mode. It scores your visibility and sentiment against competitors and shows which sources AI answers cite, so you can see where your brand is recommended and where competitors get the mention instead.
In their reviews of SE Ranking, these teams describe the AI visibility work that SE Visible grew out of.
Dominique v., Online Content Marketeer, Retail
“It’s no longer enough to know where our pages rank in traditional search; we also want to understand which sources AI platforms consider relevant when answering questions related to fashion, interiors, lifestyle, and retail. We’ve found AI Citation Analysis particularly useful for this. We use it to examine the websites and sources that AI models cite when responding to relevant prompts. This gives us a different perspective on content authority and helps us understand what types of external sources are influencing the answers customers may see.”
Saad U., Growth Marketing, KOHO
“The main problem we were trying to solve was understanding how KOHO is discovered when people ask an AI assistant about a financial need rather than searching directly for our brand. AI Answer Visibility Tracking gives us the broader measurement, while Brand Mention Tracking helps us understand the questions behind that visibility.”
Sarah F., CEO and Co-founder, OOB
“We used SE Ranking to monitor our presence across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Google AI Mode. Having these environments tracked together made it easier to compare how the same brand or topic was being surfaced depending on where the search started”
Dmytro K., Founder and CEO, inseed
“We started using SE Ranking’s Brand Mention Tracking and AI Citation Analysis as part of our research and planning work. We use Brand Mention Tracking to monitor relevant prompts around our own business and client projects. Rather than checking AI responses randomly, we can define a set of questions around a client’s products, services, competitors, and industry and revisit those prompts over time. This helps us see where a brand is being mentioned naturally and where competitors are appearing instead.”
Max G., Brand Manager, enterprise manufacturing
“We used Website Link Tracking to monitor AI-generated answers around our brands, products, and relevant beverage topics. The linked-versus-unlinked distinction was particularly useful because a mention on its own doesn’t necessarily tell us whether someone can continue their research directly through our owned channels.”
Audrey B., Marketing Lead, Darty
“AI Response Monitoring gives us a repeatable way to review the wording of AI-generated answers for important customer questions and compare those responses over time. This helps us identify where our brand is being positioned strongly, where competitors are receiving greater visibility, and which topics may require further attention from our digital and content teams.”

Rank tracking across engines and locations
Rank tracking is the capability reviewers name most by feature. Praise centers on coverage across search engines and locations, and on reading position changes alongside competitor visibility.
Valeria B., Deputy Head of Marketing, IT services
“Rank Tracker is useful for the obvious part—checking positions by location and device—but the real value for us comes from putting those movements into context. Once we started comparing rankings with Share of Voice, we realized some of our secondary terms were improving while two competitors were gaining visibility on the searches that actually carried more demand. Since then, I don’t report SEO progress as “we moved up 18 positions” and stop there. Instead, I look at overall visibility, competing domains, landing pages, and whether the movement is happening on queries that matter commercially.”
Preeti G., Content Manager and Digital Marketer
“A feature I like the most is tracking keyword rankings across various search engines and locations. SE Ranking offers all the SEO solutions I need… It integrates with Google GA4 and search console, streamlining data tracking under one roof.”
“Great tool to track your keyword rankings and get insights on improving content.”
Anajana S., Social and Content Marketing Manager, Sound Horn
“SE Ranking hits the perfect sweet spot for value and data quality. Day to day keyword and local position tracking is solid.”
Duc Dat D., self-employed, Accounting
“SE Ranking offers a very clean and intuitive interface while covering a broad range of SEO features in one platform. I found the keyword rank tracking and competitor analysis tools especially useful.”
Agency features and reporting
Agency reviewers judge SE Ranking by how well it handles many clients at once. They describe running every client project from one dashboard, with reports that take far less time to prepare and hold up in front of clients.
Reporting is the feature they name most. Beyond branding, agencies value keeping each client’s SEO work in one place, so nothing gets scattered across tools as the client list grows.
Janhavi K., Digital Marketing Manager, AOS
“White label reports are best feature. We regularly share updates with clients and it keeps everything professional and branded. For us as an agency, the biggest thing is managing multiple clients without things getting scattered… SE Ranking helps us keep all SEO work in one place. We track performance, create reports and manage multiple clients without switching between tools.”
“We came to SE Ranking as it was recommended by another SEO expert for keyword analysis, and wow have we been amazed! The product contains literally everything an agency needs to provide a full service to their clients, and we’ve been able to cancel subscriptions for three other products and saved a lot of money yearly. ”
Suman T., Digital Marketing Specialist, DigitalRyze
“I like SE ranking’s accurate keyword tracking and white-label reporting. We manage multiple client SEO projects at DigitalRyze, so reliable ranking data is really important for us. Reports also look professional and branded, which helps a lot during client presentations and monthly reporting.”
“It’s fantastic to have a centralized dashboard that saves our time and energy in client reporting, allowing us to quickly report client progress on a timely basis.”
“I like the clear dashboards, reliable rank tracking, site audits, keyword research, competitor insights, and white-label reporting—all in one place… SE Ranking helps me solve the problem of turning SEO into clear, measurable results.”
“SE Ranking has become the central tool we run our entire SEO agency on. We use it to monitor all our clients, generate monthly SEO reports, and guide our optimization work day in, day out.”
Reporting time is usually the first thing agencies measure. Find out how Fractional Teams cut its reporting from five hours to 30 minutes with SE Ranking and another team reduced reporting time by 35% with SE Ranking’s Data Studio integration.
Ease of use and onboarding
Ease of use is the strength G2 reviewers tag most, with 45 mentions, and Capterra reviewers rate it 4.6/5. Reviewers describe an interface they picked up quickly, and reports clear enough to share outside the SEO team.
“SE Ranking has a clear and intuitive interface, making it easy to work with. You can effectively monitor keywords, and the website audit report clearly highlights areas that need improvement.”
“I also love how intuitive the UI is – new team members can get up and running in a day or two without much hand-holding… The initial setup was very straightforward. From signing up to having my first project tracked took maybe 20 minutes… The onboarding emails were helpful too – they walked me through the main modules without being spammy.”
“What stands out is how it balances complexity with usability. Whether you are executing technical audits, competitor research, or adapting strategies for both traditional SEO and modern GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), the platform delivers granular insights that are actionable. It is rare to find a tool that scales this well without becoming cluttered.”
Kooldeep S., Marketing Specialist, Computer Software
“The platform has a lot of guides and materials that I can use anytime I have an issue. There was a learning curve at the beginning, but with all of the webinars and workshops offered by SE Ranking, it was easy.”

Customer support
Support reviews describe the same experience: questions get answered quickly, and the team stays helpful long after setup. Live chat runs 24 hours a day, five days a week, through the Help Hub inside the platform.
Ben J., SEO Director, Marketing and Advertising
“We’re big fans. We get everything we need from a visibility tracker at a great cost, and the team are hugely responsive, updating to anything we or other businesses need…The customer support team are very responsive and help us ensure that we’re able to manage our customer websites and performance efficiently. ”
“What keeps us loyal isn’t just the features though. It’s the support. Every time we’ve hit a problem, they’ve fixed it fast, without drama, and without making us feel like just another ticket in a queue. That kind of responsiveness is rare in this industry.”
“Made the switch from Semrush several months ago after being a customer of theirs for many years… customer service is hugely improved. Our account manager is knowledgeable and friendly, always time to chat and actually remembers who we are and previous conversations! ”
Nick T., Director, Marketing and Advertising
“Great tool and the internal team are super-responsive to questions, recommendations and us flagging things that aren’t as expected. They release new features quickly and keep us up to date with SEO changes going on.”
“A great tool with awesome support behind it! We’re using SE ranking for almost 5 months now, and we’re seeing great results… Whenever I get stuck they alway help within 24 hours (sometimes even within the hour!).”
What critical reviews say about SE Ranking
Most complaints in SE Ranking reviews come from people who rate it highly overall. They tend to be about fit, such as how long the deeper modules take to learn or which features come with which plan. Here’s what reviewers raise and how SE Ranking handles each one.
Where do satisfied SE Ranking users still see gaps?
Backlink data depth is one of the sides SE Ranking is criticized for. Agency reviewers such as Anajana S. and Janhavi K. say the backlink database feels smaller than other alternatives.
Reviewers also treat competitor traffic figures as directional, which is how third-party estimates should be read in any tool. Some reviewers would like reports to cover more of the marketing picture beyond SEO.
SE Ranking’s backlink database holds around 2.7 trillion links and it keeps growing. The team is constantly working to ensure that the platform detects backlinks and domains properly and refreshes the data regularly. SE Ranking also connects with Google Analytics 4 and Search Console, so reports can show traffic data next to rankings, an integration Preeti G. describes as seamless.
Does SE Ranking take time to learn?
The core tools don’t, according to reviewers. Some advanced modules do: competitor research comes up as the part that took longest to understand. Advanced capabilities need some onboarding before teams use them fully.
SE Ranking covers that learning curve with the SE Ranking Academy and its webinars and workshops. For day-to-day questions, the Help Center and live chat inside the platform fill in the rest.
How do reviewers feel about SE Ranking’s pricing?
Most long-time reviewers think it’s still fair: prices have gone up, and so has what the platform does. One agency owner makes exactly that point: it costs more than when his team started, and it’s a better product too.
The recurring request is to have more included in the base plan, with white-label reporting the example that comes up most.
SE Ranking keeps client-facing agency features in the Agency Pack, a paid add-on, so teams that don’t need them don’t pay for them. Monthly plans are available if you’d rather not commit to a year upfront.
